The process of transformation in Hermetic teachings is often divided into several stages, which may include:

Purification: This stage involves cleaning and purifying the mind, body, and spirit in order to prepare for spiritual growth.
Awakening: This stage involves gaining a deeper understanding of the self and the nature of reality, and is often associated with the experience of spiritual awakening or enlightenment.
Transcendence: This stage involves rising above the limitations of the ego and transcending the material world, in order to experience a sense of unity with the divine.
Union: This stage is the final goal of Hermetic teachings, it involves achieving a state of spiritual unity and oneness with the divine.
Throughout these stages, the individual is said to undergo a process of spiritual transformation, in which they shed their old, limiting beliefs and ways of being, and develop new, higher spiritual understandings and abilities.
